I've also finished a couple of segmented pepper mills... the first is 10 inches tall, a crush grind mechanism... I prefer the C/G mechanisms because they allow me to be a little less exact in my measurements... this one is from the corner pieces of the blank I glued up... I ran the corners through a friend's joiner and glued them back together, then cut at an angle again.... the second mill is a 13 1/4 tall... I found a C/G mechanism at CSUSA that has an 18" shaft so I can make a much larger mills now... have to try for one later... this one came out of the middle of the glue up blank I made... the woods are blood wood, purplehear, Brazilian ebony, a yellow wood.. not yellow heart, but similar, and brazilian cherry.... the first 3 pictures are the smaller mill and the second 3 are the taller mill....
The last 4 is a second tall mill I'm working on... this picture only has the first coat of poly on it...
Hope the pictures look okay... they were quick and dirty in the shop so I could send pictures of the bowls to my wife's girlfriend.
