Gridwork Side Table

I was feeling the need for a little practice today so I drew this table by Kevin Rodel. His version is featured in the current issue of Fine Woodworking. I used a different wood material and chose a dragonfly tile from Motawi Tile. It's all SketchUp and a little FotoSketcher.

I like it. I'll have to dig out my FWW to check it out.

Now tell the truth, that didn't take you very long, did it?

No. It didn't take very long at all. There's only eight components to draw and none of them are very complex. I probably spent about the same amount of time screwing around making the image I posted. I made a series of scenes that I exported as PNGs using the Animation export. Then I combined the images to createthe final. The soft shadows are even from SketchUp with a little doctoring in an image editor.
