Rings

Gotta like that Rick. I was going to say one of a kind, but then it seemed more like I should say two... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks for all the comments.

Sometimes, I have enough energy to sneak out at night to caress the tools and make a few wood shavings...

It was a bit harder to make two rings that (mostly) matched than just one. My original idea was to have two dark lines, but the ring was just too wide. They worked out fine with one center line.

If I make more rings, I will need to come up with a better method. I turned a "finger" to friction mount the ring after drilling the initial hole - and it worked OK, but the finger got chewed up during the final shaping process with the skew. I was able to extend the finger (insert joke here) back to get some clean wood for mounting, but after I finished the rings, the finger was history.

Priority for now is getting my logs milled into lumber. Already lost some from sitting too long.
