Still working. This house is in upstate NY near the St. Lawrence river. After clearing out the attic, we discovered there is no insulation, none, zip, nada. She used to heat with fuel oil and had horrendous oil bills. We always suspected there was no insulation but could never get down far enough in the "treasures" in the attic to prove it (and she did not like anyone poking around her house...not even family). We did convince her to switch to natural gas a few years back and that lowered her bill a lot. Now we are wondering if the junk in the attic served as a kind of insulation, because the furnace is cranking nearly full time and it's only in the forties.
