Remodel of a no-name junky backsaw

Hi Folks,

Here's another of my remodel jobs. This one is a bit extreme considering the amount of time invested to go from what it was before and what it is now. I don't even remember where I got the saw. It was laying around for a few years with no intentions of ever doing anything with it because it was such a junky ugly little thing. The handle was much thinner than any handle I've ever seen on a backsaw. It was like it was made as a toy for a little kid. The pictures in the album will show how I added thickness to the hand grip to make it thicker. The wood I added is Mahogany. The handle itself is Beech.

Here is a link to a Picasa album that shows a bunch of pictures of the various stages the handle went through during it's transformation.

Sorry Folks, I'm having problems posting pictures and URL,s here. The link to the Picasa Album is not showing up as a link. You'll have to copy and paste it into your URL window in your browser. Oh, hey.... I think I see what's going on, you just have to click on it and it will turn blue and become a link. How stupid of me.:D
