Is this a good deal?

Today I went to check out some solid wood for the coffee table refinish project I was working on and stumbled across some veneer for a decent price.

And 2 - 2' x 8' cherry in sequence that has an unusual grain. Sort of a mix of mahogany and cherry to it.

12 - 2' x 7' Birds eye maple

I got all of this for $20.00

I also got six sheets of I think Brazilian tulip wood that are in sequence. Got them Cause loml really liked the way they looked. Now I just got to figure out what to make out of them for her.

Oh and the pics of the Birdseye maple. I don't know why it looks yellow in the picture.

I think the one I have does pretty good. It came from Woodcraft with the pump hose and a 36" x 54" vinyl bag and I bought and additional 54" x 108" vinyl bag. It's done the mappa burl job I posted and all the veneering on my kitchen

Is that all you got for $20. Wow were you pointing an Uzie at the guy selling the stuff. Sheez you da man.

Funny little side joke that the number 20 brings up with me when its associated with currency. Dad would give me a R20 note and say go buy yourself some clothes. Make sure to get and the long list would ensue and at the end he would say and bring me some change. :)

Terrific deal, but most veneers in 2x8 or 4x8 foot sheets are paperback. The veneer is extremely thin, and you have to be aware that the edge (not wood) may show. The paper is usually thick enough that it can be applied without a press, perhaps even with contact cement.
