Hello y'all! Just saying hey and a little pertinent info about me.

If any of you here frequent some of the other forums I'm sure you'll recognize me, I've been ww'n since my apprenticeship started at age 14... So about 16 yrs now. I was fortunate in having a very talented mentor who, like me now, would rather use a hand tool than modern power tools.

I'm a full-time municipal FF/Medic which means I "work" 10 days a month and play in the shop the rest. I have a fairly well rounded 2400 sqft shop equipped with quite a few hand tools however as I rely on them more and more I seem to never stop looking for the next specialized tool I don't have yet. Most of the power stuff lays idol except for the TS as I still rely on it for mass ripping.

If this is anything like other forums, no pictures = didn't happen so here are a few of my latest builds.

The last one, a hutch, is not quite done but boy has it been a trip to build. The moulding, rail and stiles, raised panels... All but ripping was done by hand with a mixture of hand planes mostly. I've been having a blast with a Stanley type 1B I recently acquired and got cleaned up.

Happy to be here, see y'all around!

Welcome aboard, Tom!

I really like that demilune table, and that curve-sided dresser must've been an interesting - and challenging- build, too.

Can we see more?

Hey, a guy who knows his classic furniture. That Demilune was a quick little build. It was a donation for auction to support the American Cancer Society. It only brought $200, pretty low for my pieces, but it was for a good cause. I think I'll just make a donation next year though, lol

The dresser is Cypress and it was an interesting build. I'm just starting a matching baby bed with a sleigh design and that was why the dresser was designed to match. Are you wanting pictures of more work, or details on the dresser? Below is a sketch of the baby bed. I sometimes sketch a build before hand other times not and let the piece take me to the end. I'm never take the time to truly design a piece as that happens on the fly as I go.

Thanks for the welcomes, I appreciate it and I'm looking forward to learning and contributing mainly in the hand tools section.

A few more tidbits... You can see more on my facebook page (nothing sold there) but I'm not sure what the policy of linking to it is, especially with being new here.

I recently started making a few hand tools with hand tools, it fun :)

Welcome Tom.

I'm an old/new member. Haven't been doing much WW'ing lately but I have high hopes of getting back in the shop/garage to make some sawdust.

You do some very nice work and I'm looking forward to seeing as many pics as you wish to post.

Again, thx guys! And I guess I should have mentioned what the swamp picture was, haha... I was diving for sinker logs! I'm on the rescue recovery dive team and technical rescue (rope) team which comes in handy with hobbies. More pictures of sinker stuff on the fb page but not much, I just got started with that.

Here is my fb page: www.facebook.com/toulousest
Feel free to (please) like it!
