Beer Tap Threads

Does anyone know what the standard threads are for a beer tap? I want to turn a tap handle for my nephew and want it to thread on easily. I don't go to bars much. Might have to just visit one and take my pitch gauge and do some measurements. Any ideas for a metal thread insert source?

I just use a standard brass threaded insert. I've gotten them at Home depot before... I'd give you the thread info, but my taps are in storage, sadly...

The industry thread standard for US produced draft beer tap handles is 3/8"-16 UNC(Unified Coarse Thread) threads. European models use some other standard size :dunno:
