to my tongue and groove planks?

Like Beading.gif or V Groove.gif

Which type do you think would look best on my bench? Is there another style of bead you would suggest?

Are they necessary for the shelf Bill? will they turn into a dust collection groove on a shelf? The V groove would be the lesser culprit of them and look good also:)

Not much woodworking happens for me during the "work" week, but I managed to make a decision on whether to bead or chamfer the shelf boards along the tongue and groove joint. I decided a small chamfer was needed to protect the edges, so I fired up the heater tonight and got it done.

I did not bother marking out the legs of the chamfer, I just eyeballed it, using one my favorite planes. One of the things I recently resolved to do was to be less "precise" and more fluid in my woodworking, trust my skill and not be afraid to make a mistake. I think it worked out pretty well this time.

It really is a very small chamfer, just enough to protect the edge. I am happy with the decision to go with the chamfer.
