Larry, they are attached to a stoneware type urn, and are sanded glass smooth, The wood looked like Aspen to me.

I've see similar pieces done on a lathe with the wood rounds cast into acrylic resin.
Do you know if these were domestically made, or were they imported?

Vaughn, I asked and they told me that they were made locally in Colorado by an artist there, Each one is about four feet tall

Very cool. I'd much rather see things like this made by local artists than by some kids in an Indonesian sweat shop.
