Wow, June is drawing to a close fast. So what's going on in your neighborhood?

Myself, big weekend here. 4H fair kicks off today, so will be going down to see the sights tonight. Might squeeze in a little shop time somewhere. Sunday morning we are loading up Comet and she is headed to Europe for 19 days. Should be a big time for her.

Haven't give much thought to the weekend. My Brother and his wife are still in town finishing up the cleaning out of Mom and Dads home. They will be heading home tomorrow. My bike is still at the paint shop and we have lot's of work. Not sure if it will rain all weekend so no plans for trout fishing as of yet. Just taken one day at a time.

Taking it easy tonight at home with the girl while mom has a girls night out at a friends.Tomorrow some shop time in the morning and then a long bike ride to a great watering hole south of des moines where LOML will meet me so I don't have to ride back! Sunday more shop time and then some pool time to see how much the kid has improved from her swimming lessons this week.

So the headline in the papers could be: "Comet hits Europe!" Sorry I could not resist.

As for me, I got home late last night after a week long business trip to Tulsa. My flights in and out took me through Chicago where as we circle over the lake getting in line for the airport, I tried to look across to where and Larry and Tom are but all I saw was water and low clouds. Someday I need to get over there. I need to go into the office today and hope to get out early to start the weekend. A little woodworking, I don't know what, but I just need to do something; and a little golf since it is not raining...yet.

My nieces may be over tonight to swim and watch a movie poolside. Putting final finishes on my tool swap project and packing it up. Have a PB gig on Sunday, so getting setup and packed for that and working on a video and overlays for others. Need to mow sometime, but may put it off til monday night.

Also getting started on some new halloween props early this year for our annual party, probably will spend some time on those this weekend.

LOML has been very patient about her bathroom cabinet . . . that's my victim this weekend.

The cabinet or the LOYL? :D

Not planning anything too interesting this weekend. I have some work-work to do. Need to clean the apartment and do some other household chores. Might go hit the local flea market (a large one every weekend at the State Fairgrounds). Might go drop a few bucks at one of several local casinos. Then again, I might just sit around and veg out for a couple of days.

If the thunderstorms hold off we will take my grand daughter Abby to the drive in tonight. Saturday we are going to Vermont for my grand son Jim's 8th grade graduation party. (why kids who graduate 8th grade get a party is beyond me:dunno:)
Swap items are all made and ready to ship to whomever is unlucky enough to get me:D

Sunday I'll probably start putting the finish on the desk for my SIL. (Ya, i know, I've been saying that for weeks now:doh:)

I milled joinery and assembled four drawer boxes this morning. Then, LOML and I went to Valdosta for lunch at Red Lobster.

Saturday, I'll finish and mount an oak towel rack I've been working on in my spare time. :) Probably a little shop cleanup.

Sunday will be back to the usual brunch after reading the newspaper, then the race and some barley pop.

well I 'found' a lot of space (being a relative term in my shop) today... there are still several interloper baskets and boxes to deal with, however I'm confident that by Tuesday they'll be dealt with and I should be well on my way towards cleaning up the shop.

when I started I couldn't walk more than 3 feet into the shop, and now I can make it all the way back to the rear wall.
