Just finished turning this morning - canarywood bowl, 2 1/2" x 6 3/4". Turning is approximately 1/8" thick. I had the bowl pop out of my Nova chuck and that took a fairly large chip out of the bottom - easiest fix was to remove the flange, hence the bottom is not turned as I would have liked. Buffed with Williamsburg Wax. I loved working with canarywood and would like to have a dozen larger blanks to play with.

Nice recovery Sandy! Nice bowl. I, too, like turning canarywood. I turned a couple of pepper grinders and salt shakers for Christmas. Nice turning wood!

Beautiful bowl. I really do like the form. Are carnary blanks hard to find?

Joan, I'm sorry I missed your question . . . I don't like to leave people spinning around

I found my canary wood blank at Woodcraft - the last time I was there they had more available. Guess you just have to ask and know where they stash their exotics.

When are you getting your lathe??????
