Another Ringnecked Pheasant

Laser cut inlay using a piece of Curly Maple for the barrel, Red Dyed Spalted Maple, Green Dyed Basswood and Box Elder Burl. Brass tube is painted black and pieces anchored with Thin CA.
Turned, sand with 400x, buffed with super fine steel wool and applied 6 coats of MINWAX Oil Modified Water Based Polyurethane.
I like this one better than the first one I did with the lighter colored Curly Maple.

why do you paint the tube black if its getting coverd by the maple with the laser inlay les?? nice looking pen.

Very nice! Is that a Lazeslinez blank? They make nice handles for razors also. Paint the tube blank to get the black lines?

Sometimes Ken's quality control is not that great and the brass tube can been seen in places.

that makes sence, les,, just thought that a laser fit would be dead on.. havnt seen any real close so am inexperienced on them..
