Football season is coming...

so LOML decided I needed some TN VOL stuff... I ordered some special wood from one of my favorite sources and turned a few pepper mill and a set of margarita glasses in Vol colors... this weekend is first game of the season, so hopefully they will received well... The center mill is actually from ordinary plywood that I dyed with Ritz dye, then sanded it back for just a hint of orange... the rest and the margaritas are all Spectraply.

Very nice How hard or easy is it to turn plywood? I'm thinking that it would tend to splinter

I didn't have much issue with splintering... I don't think it's US Made plywood... looks more like the stuff I used to import out of Brazil back in my working days... it's metric dims, smaller layers of veneer and fewer voids than what we got from Georgia Pacific... just made sure the tool was good and sharp and it worked fine.
