Good morning all:) I am thinking on purchasing a tile saw as I have 4 areas that in time I will be laying tile. I think over the long run, purchasing will be less expensive than renting, besides, who doesn't like new tools:D. So who has one they would recommend? I am not looking for a pro version, just a good/decent home version. Thanks in advance and have a good weekend:)

Tom the yellow one from Hope Desperate is a pretty good version, My daughter bought one to do her kitchen, both floor and back splash, then we used it for our backs plash tiles and it was still going strong
It worked really well for a saw that is under $80.00

We have one that came from Home Depot. It was in the $75 to $80 range. We have used it to cut the tile for over 2,000 square feet of tile floor. It works well enough for most any none pro.

Having thown one just like that yellow one in the trash, I wouldn't recommend it. My older one was the same as the $49 one (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...1&keyword=tile+saw&storeId=10051#.UJ6iEoa8GSo). Wasn't built a lot better, but the fence was better than the plastic fence on the yellow one. The water tray also pulls out to wash and clean up, the water tray of the yellow one was built in.

That said, I went the semi-pro route since I have plans to do some patio pavers next spring... http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-25e...1&keyword=tile+saw&storeId=10051#.UJ6kGYa8GSo

It really depends on two things. First is the size of the tile(s) you will be using. Second, How you will be laying it out. If you are using 13" tiles on on of those saws mentioned you will find it difficult doing straight cuts. I have one similar to the one Chuck has and it makes short work of tile jobs.
