Urgent request today for some Carpet Protectors, fine furniture with small diameter brass foot ferrules and fine carpets don't mix.
So an afternoon pretending it's all in a days enjoyment should see the persons weekend visitors being allowed to sit on the chairs.

Sapele 80mm max. dia.

Can I ask how you chucked them up?
Cole Jaws with bull nosed live tailstock centre support for heavy turning. Beads and attachment screw hole formed, (all 12 done to this stage) then flipped in Cole jaws, parted off to length (with tailstock support) socket bored to depth and tailstock support returned in socket for final top flare turning.

That's a great idea Chas.... we could have used them in the bedroom earlier this year.... we have a new puppy that's not quite housebroken yet, he liked the legs of the bench sitting in the bedroom and we have a permanent stain where the brass legs sat on the carpet.... fortunately it's inexpensive carpet (we live in a modular and they use the basics for everything) and will be easily replaced... and possible we may replace with hardwood or engineered flooring.
