They reported on the news tonight that this is becoming a problem in the southern Ohio area, it has been found in a few Walnut trees in the Cincinnati area, and the veneer mills in the ares are prohibited from moving their products. Is there any report of this in other areas of the country? or is it a local problem right now? I sure hate to hear of another infestation like the Emerald Ash Borer affecting one of my favorite woods.

its been around for awhile charles i think colorado has it bad as well.. i read about it in the woodshop news magazine a few months ago.. its been around here some and it has taken out most if not all of our butter nuts.. it looks like black streaks in the bark like it got shot with bird shot and was bleeding black juice..

It's here in NE Ohio, too.

That, along with the Emerald Ash Borer, has all hardwood movement here in my area quarantined. We can only move it within about a three county area - unless it's been kiln dried.
