Taint purdy

but it works for now...and, I only have $15.00 invested in hardware. I'd say guess where the chocolate came from, but..... ;)
Started out gluing up a couple of pieces of chocolate & made a recess for the threaded rod retainer...

Used 1/2" rod for guides, and roll pins for retainers...

Need to replace this sad attempt{though it is working} with something a little more substantial and do a wee bit better job recessing the nut  this too has a roll pin set into the nut to hopefully help keep it from spinning...

Get's just a hair over an 8" spread, and as mentioned, so far so good...:crossed:

I'm confused. What isn't 'purdy' about that? Looks well engineered, appears to work great, is made out of some darn nice chocolate, and looks to be well executed.

Function trumps looks. :thumb:

(Just ask my wife. She doesn't care how I look as long as I A) kill bugs, and B) get things down from high shelves for her.)
