Those of you with family nearby, do you have a system set up to check on you regularly?
Consider me careless or lucky. I am pretty much a safety stickler. But, my face shield is an el cheapo. I wear only for larger pieces. I seem to use my 1" belt sander/grinder a lot and it is one noisy tool so I always wear ear plugs and then leave them in. That helps give me a sense of isolation from the rest of the world. My wife knows I prefer to be left alone when in the shop. I operated my cattle farm for 25 years working alone and it was more than five miles from the house. Only time I was ever injured we had company and were showing them around. That's another story..........
