March? Yup, It's March already...

Today I've got a full afternoon of meetings, probably take my wife to dinner so she can un-wind, this is one of her busiest times of the year at work.

Tomorrow I'm going to finish pre-painting trim and finish touching up the walls and get them painted, then install trim. My wife has some things to hang on the walls, so will get those up as well.

Need to cut and install the crown moulding and sand down the vanity to put a coat of sealer on. Will start cutting out door fronts and drawers for the vanity.

May drive down to the JD, Kubota, and Mahindra dealers tomorrow and look at compact tractors first hand.

So what's everyone else got going?

Spending more time in the kitchen than shop today - doing some prep work to get ready for company. Not sure how LOML will want to celebrate after work this evening. Yesterday was her birthday and today is her last day of work - ever!

Saturday, we'll prepare for the arrival of some FWW family members. They should be here around 4pm, so I'm sure there will be lots of tall tales and sipping!

Sunday, the guests will continue south on their getaway. I'll settle in for the NASCAR Phoenix race, while LOML catches up on her reading.

Monday will be the first day of the rest of our lives for sure. LOML will NOT have to hop up and head to work! Yay for retirement!!!

Congrats to Mrs. Arnold! :congrats:

Closest thing to woodworking I've got on the schedule is to hang a coat rack at my sister's house. (Hey, it's a wooden rack.)

Might wander over to the Gun Show at the state fairgrounds to look at overpriced guns, ammo and accessories, since it's only about a mile from my apartment. I'll also probably take advantage of the predicted good weather and head to the Shooting Range State Park to sight in a new rifle scope I got recently.

A few other possibilities may come up this weekend, but I'll keep those close to the vest for now. ;)

Please wish her a happy birthday for us and a BIG Congratulations!!! :thumb:

WoooHooo for the Arnolds!! :thumb:

Tonight we are meeting a few friends out to plan a vacation we are all taking together this summer with our families...probably not much planning gonna happen! Tomorrow I hope to get started on my dust collection piping after gathering most of what I need to get started this week...

Woodworking show in Columbus. 175 mile drive (each way)...show was a total waste of time. Shoulda just gone to Hartville. Much more to be seen, and do, there.

$5 parking, two $12 tickets, saw the whole show in 30 minutes. Didn't buy anything at all.

Took the wife for a good German dinner, and that was it.

In my continuing quest for organization, I'm sortin stuff in the shop. I shoulda bought stock in whatever company makes these little plastic boxes Costco sells.

Spent most of the afternoon over at my good friend's house....he got a Kel McNaughton coring system a couple of months ago and we were experimenting with it, trying to learn the right way to use it... think we were partially successful... at least beginning to gather a little light on the subject..... it's a really nice system, but much more complicated than my wood-cut core system.

Weather guessers are predicting snow tonight and this weekend... probably will hibernate rest of the weekend. SNOW is a four letter word.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes for LOML and me. She's ecstatic about never having to get up and go to work again!!! I picked her up this afternoon and all of her co-workers did the appropriate yada-yada and she showed her appreciation appropriately. She's like a whole new woman this evening!!! Many of the people where she worked still refuse to believe she's actually of the age to retire, which is truly an ego boost for her! Anyway, thanks again. We look forward to meeting some of you on our travels in the future.

I started the weekend by taking Friday off and going to an Rv show in Toronto. Friend of mine is on the fence about getting a new one but when he found out what they would give him for the old one we fixed up a few years ago, that put a dent in any ideas he has of upgrading.
Got a bit stale after a while going through trailers especially when youve just bought one. Did confirm one thing though, i got one heck of a deal buying mine when i did in the USA and bringing it home. And i had nmo issues with gov at all.
While at the show i was worried about missing my UPS delivery of my new tablet laptop but it was my lucky day Linda had gone home for lunch and what do you know driver arrived while she was there. So i will be getting my new baby all set up over weekend. Opened it last night and oh boy techies this is one sweeeeeeet piece of technology. More on it later. Got a 250G ssd to put in and 16G of ram then it should be good to load up with software. :) That is after the 68 windows updates :(.
Looking forward to spring so i can get back in the shop.

Taking today to rest up a bit... as I'm hitting the road hard this coming week. I've wound up with one part time bus driver gig, plus a courier job so depending on the day, I'll be behind the wheel between 3 and 11 hours through June .... hoping to get some shop time in next weekend though, as the forecast says the mercury will finally get above 35 enough for me to thaw out my tools! My wife is taking me out to dinner tonight, her annual fire company banquet at the local casino (new venue, better food...!). Just for fun Lori and I are going to kick some tires at the annual RV show tomorrow before I hit the highway at the courier gig. Sleep? what's that??

Hopefully today is D-Day, as in Done Day with the bird house I've been working on & off (mostly off ;)) for the past 3-4 weeks. Now to figure out where to erect it. If I were a bird I'd be embarrassed to visit it.

Also, yesterday I made an appointment for this coming week with an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate whether to continue with Synnvisc knee injections or to have a total knee replacement. I'm hoping for the knee replacement as I'm tired of having to contend with the knee as it is.

While still fighting the lingering cough that comes with the creeping crud I caught awhile back I will "endeavour to persevere" and get some more forward motion on the Kitchen Hutch.

Al, I wish you the best on the knee. I didn't have a replacement but, a rebuild 20-odd years ago changed my life.

Finish up the cabinet for my daughter. I have already have two coats of gloss and today I'll put on the final coat in satin. We also went to Clarkes and picked up some more Cypress along with some ribbon stripe Sapelle as Norma did a design change while we were at Clarkes.
