Pedestal Basket

Looking through a book recommended by Jim Adkins as a source of inspiration, I saw some pictures of pedestal baskets, a style I hadn't seen before and I had to give one a try. This is my attempt at copying a basket originally done by Lucy Telles in 1910. A big thanks to Jim Adkins for his help and advice. Hard maple, 11" by 6". C & C welcomed.

That is wonderful work. OMG....you must be cross-eyed. That much pyro work and I would be all knotted up and have a migraine from the fumes....and I do use a fan blowing over my shoulder to push the fumes away...learnt it from Molly Winton.

Nice, nice work!!

Thanks for all the nice comments. And Chuck, sometimes I feel cross-eyed, I can only do that detail stuff for 30 minutes or so, then I have to stop. I normally wear bifocals, but for some of this work I use powerful reading glasses. seems to help, but still need plenty of breaks. Here is a pic of the bottom I should have included. And thanks again for the comments. I appreciate it.
