This is a swap gift for a friend known to many here...but I can't use his name because he doesn't have it yet!
English walnut 14.5" Burned and wire textured on the rim and slab border. 6" green marble cheese slab with a large cracker rim on the outside and small cracker/fruit/nut ring inside. The underside has a finger ring for easy pick up and a double foot for stability at the edge. The rim...no pic's...sorry, has a burn line, texturing with a Wagner tool. Utensil handles are white oak burl and spalted maple...courtesy of Mr. Bellinger. The stopper is from Ruth Niles SS, on a redwood birdseye blank. Utensils have 5 coats of CA, platter has 8 coats of WOP satin, 0000 steel wool in between. Sanding the curved crackers areas proved to be a challenge… I don't like sanding challenges! While finishing the bottom, the platter decided to remove itself from the lathe in an abrupt manner...it didn't receive any more attention!! Enjoy, welcomed C&C used on the next one!
