Jim Burrs walnut

Jim and I did a little wood swap last month or so. I send him some holly and some of that half rotten ash i made the last bowl out of. Well he in turn sent me this piece of walnut, along with some red wood, and other stuff. (thanks again Jim):thumb: This is the first piece of it i've turned from it. As you can see it had a bunch of cracks and a bit of curl, and was bone dry. It's 6 1/2x 3 1/2 or there abouts. Finish is just teak oil, followed by wax and hand buff.

Glad you did something with that instead of me! That is from the same batch that I sent to Vaughn a long time ago that he made a bowl from. You really did this one proud!!

Looks great, Steve. Very pretty wood, and I like the form you pulled out of it. :thumb:

Now we know what Jim does with all the cracked wood he finds.
