Time is an Economic Resource: Hobbies, Forums and the Golden Rule

I have a couple different (though my wife would say "too many") hobbies and I am on forums for most of them. It is difficult for me to keep up with the forums, as it were. What I am thinking to do, is before posting something I want feedback on, finding one person to whom I give positive and/or constructive feedback to. Having done that, if my only forum activity is the one post on one other thread and my own post, I'll feel free to be done with the forum to do other things.

Does this seem like a reasonable way to live the Golden Rule?

BTW, Rennie's cutting boards thread was my application of this philosophy for this post itself.

My forum participation both here and elsewhere ebbs and flows depending on what else is going on in my life. Looking at my post count here, I obviously have too much spare time (or fast fingers...one or the other). :D But to address your point, when it comes to forum participation, quality trumps quantity every time. ;) Your approach sounds fine to me.
