I've been using scrapers more or less successfully for a couple of years. I need to work some on sharpening them, but I have achieved good results with them, especially on difficult grain. I intended to make a scraper holder this year, but haven't got around to it, and I saw this "craftsman made" holder on hyperkitten, and bought it.
It does need sharpening, but it appears to be competently made, and I hope to get a chance to use it before the snow flies. I'm quite happy with its appearance. It's impossible to date, even though I offered it flowers and candy (j/k) but is pretty good looking.
