Well I have finely got started on a project I have been wanting to get at all summer The Swamp Box line of CBG's. I think these are going to be cool I have 2 sold already and I can't wait to see how they turn out.
Well I woke up last night and had a thought What if that is lead paint on there so off to Lowe's got a test kit and sure enough LEAD PAINT So off to the firebox it goes. Man that sucked. Oh well I have plenty left without any paint on it. Lucky for me I only had one board with paint on it out of 2200' bf
Nice ones Jay. I like the sound holes. I'll bet that cypress would look nice sand blasted with a burnished, limed and distressed finish too. Have to admit that my preference would be all or nothing on the saw marks.
Paul I use a mix of 1/3 BLO 1/3 Naphtha and 1/3 wipe on poly. I give them one coat of this and then 2 or 3 coats of straight wipe on Satin Poly
The BLO really pops the grain
