the last piece Im making for my wifes office, a small chair.
simple, nothing curved, very easy, but I pull a couple of boards off the top, and I think I used curly walnut(I think its called curly) when I should have used mostly sapwood if I had it, not caring much about the walnut quality.
might have made a nice door panel, instead of chair pieces.

is this curly walnut?

I went through at least 6-8 boards this morning, just to make sure the top of the pile doesn't have any figured lumber in it.
Maybe my words were mistaken for what I really meant.
Its a decent project, but its just a chair. Chair legs don't show off figure in wood as nice as a a table top or a raised panel for a door or side of cabinet.
I have a few strips of it, so maybe Ill use it for some pens in the future.
Id make her a matching pen, but her favorite pen and the one she uses is the one I got from mack, that pink pen with the jewel thingie dangling on it. No reason to give her any other pens, especially if its going to compete with macks handiwork.
