Well I have another saw, but it's a Ryobi job site saw. It will work in a pinch. It's only about a year old and works fine, so I think I might just use it until I can afford to buy a nice saw. If I get to the point where I'm doing enough work to make it worthwhile, I want to buy a nice cabinet saw with a good fence system.

I'll second this place. I've picked up a couple motors from them, they are a great outfit. Both are still running great 5yrs later.

In addition to weighing more, and needing 220v to run, a 3hp motor will have more torque than what the system was designed for. If you're interested, I have a good used 1hp Emerson made Craftsman contractor saw motor....reversible direction, 14 amp...pretty much the same as most others.
