Al I shot a nice Tom with my crossbow. I only will shoot them if the opportunity presents it's self during deer season.

Way to go Dave! 
I have frequent turkey visitors to my back yard, but gave up turkey hunting even before I started. I got all the gear I needed (camo/calls/decoys/blinds/etc.) to hunt them, then decided against shooting them after hearing a lot of negative comments about the "poor tastiness" of turkeys. Comments like the legs are not worth the trouble (stringy/strong taste); the breast is the only worthwhile part to eat, need to grind the meat, etc. Too many negatives for me & my wife, plus having raised 10,000 chickens on my father's farm, I got a pretty good taste of what is required to clean/prepare them to eat. Still a "fowl" memory.
