Im not sure if its a question of being spoiled or whatever.
It seems he just adapted to the cards he was dealt.
My guess is also that if he didn't learn to use his legs and feet, he wouldn't eat. And hunger can be a strong driving force.
I once met a very old carpenter from the "old country"(he was Italian)
He learned carpentry from his father, who learned from his father, and so on.
When I asked him about stuff he made, like did he make chairs, tables.
He told me in broken English, yes, I make chair. I asked him if he sold his chairs.
He said no, I make chair so I can eat at table and not stand or sit on floor.
made perfect sense to me.
