Real nice job, Ben. I like the clean lines of the form. Did you use an expansion chuck to hold the foot in the recess on the bottom, or use a tenon and a compression chuck, then trim the tenon away?

Marty: see edit: or I could just tell you....:p poly
Vaughn: I used an expanding chuck in the recess, and if you look closely you can see the marks left by it... but... because when the chuck was in the hole, it was so close to completely closed, it left a circle around to rim, so it just looks like detailing :D

Thanks :D

That's a nice bowl - the finish looks great. My only critique would be that the foot looks too much like a mortice: I would prefer it to be 'hidden' to not show how the piece was held.

Very nice bowl Ben!

I can't wait to turn the cherry I got, I've been turning the Red and Blue Keyaki and it turns like concrete, can't wait to get into that softer wood :D (for Tod "Kay-yak-key").

Cheers!
