This isn't much, but it's a start. I need to take some more courses to refine my skills, but I got some skew practice with the candlestick. This is a knob for my knockout bar, and a candlestick, both unfinished, in cherry.

I'm going with pepper mill and bird house...great start!! Sorry, never could spell ordimant...go ahead...let's hear it.
 
Thank you all, again. Yes, it did feel really good. Turning is my favourite part of woodworking. I still need more practice with all the tools, but I can make stuff. I have a kit for a peppermill that I intend to do when I get a chuck, but you know what the road to Hell is paved with. Memsahib just wanted to know if I used "my" money or "our" money to pay for it. Of course I used my money, but anything else I buy this month is coming out of our money. If it doesn't rain too much the rest of teh week, I should get some practice in, before I go butchering $10 cuts of hardwood.
