In THIS thread I got some more wood and one piece I thought was a burl, but it wasn't, well I got around to roughing it out finally....

Looks like nice wood, even though its NOT burl, but....

I'm going to have to deal with some cracks.....

I ended up coring out one more blank

The inside cleaned up nicely maybe the cracks won't be so bad...?

The two finished rough outs of the stuff I thought was burls but was not, still, could be nice NE bowls when done.

NE? Oh! Natural edge, eh? Just for my edification, how will you deal with those cracks? Nice looking wood, BTW.

Yeah Natural Edge.

I think I'll end up using some epoxy for the cracks, if the bowl survives that long. Once it is out of the DNA bath and wrapped up for a month or two, we'll see if it is even worth finish turning. Maybe I'll do some inlay, some stone inlay stuff, I've never done that before....
