    maple burl bowl

    Well I finally got this bowl finished. This is the one I showed Jay to let him see what his slab will look like. It finished out right at 13 x 5 1/2. Finish is Danish oil, followed by shellac, followed by lacquer. Will wax and buff after it cures for a week or so, then it will go to the lady that gave me the tree.Click image for larger version.

    To big for a flat-rate with my address on it . Simple is best when it comes to that kind of wood...well done bud!

    Thanks guys. Jim I have a piece with your name on it, but I havn't figures out how to fit a 16 " round blank in a flat rate box.

    You nailed it, Steve! I love the form...it's how a bowl with these proportions should be, IMO.

    Hey Stephen I check with the post office and all you have to do is stretch wrap it or just find a way to make the label stay on to ship it no box needed. I was looking at how to ship some of Melissa blanks and that is what they told me.
