High Chair Project

Some more progress, got one of the two tables mounted today. This was dry assembled, no glue, I have some final finishing to do, just wanted to do a test fit (with child and all) to make sure my final measurements were right. I added a couple of felt pads on the bottom of the table where they make contact with the arm to keep them from rubbing.

To keep him from lifting the table I added a quick connector to the front "T" strap with one end attached to the bottom of the table.

Anyone use the DIY button snaps, thinking about using them to connect some of the ends for the webbing/straps. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for a brand to use. That way we can remove the waist one at least to make clean-up easier.

Great to hear he is messy....he is a boy gramps. Lol. Since when do boys eat all neat and tidy, aint food for throwing and squishing between fingers. Lol. This age is the greatest of the kid years in my view watching the cogs turn and the mischief come along. Enjoy.

Since I'm getting the high chairs ready for the granddaughter, I'm revisiting the straps I did prior. I had just used some nylon webbing and plastic clips. My wife and daughter complained that they were impossible to clean since they were screwed to the bottom of the seat and table. So this time I'm giving some snaps a try. They'll be able to unsnap the straps from the bottom and wash them much more easily. I'll still have the plastic clips for the waist strap, but use snaps to connect the belt to the bottom of the seat rather than being screwed on. I also may come up with something else for holding the table top down.

I finished up one chair, still thinking about a better way to latch down the table though. I showed my wife and she was happy with this and being able to remove the straps for cleaning them
