I am now "bionic"! Implantable Cardiovertor Defibrillator "ICD" implanted yesterday at 3 pm, home by 7:45. A bit sore, to be expected, but life is good!

I am in this club also. Doing fine with over a year on battery power.
At last test - They connect wireless to the device, the tech says watch this -- all of a sudden it sounds like a cell phone ringing but the source was inside me. He says if that goes off you need to see us and get a new battery. I said if that goes off I'll answer my phone.
Battery should last 7-10 years so no worries for awhile.
They always do something to verify the device is still working. Normally they say "Tell me when you fell this." and they bump you up to 100 bpm for a few seconds.
I once asked if you could kill me right now? He said not directly but can make it so bad you probably would not last long.
Dick Cheney has one installed. They disabled the wireless in fear of hackers using it to hurt the VP.
