This red oak log has been down for close to three years. The outer wood was rotten, but the inner was fine. Got some really nice QS boards. The majority is 14" or better wide. It was a beast on an all manual mill. Got right at 200 bd/ft from this log. I let my boy run the mill and I pulled slabs.
He is growing like a weed! He's hit the bottomless pit stage. His momma brought home a gallon of chocolate milk around 6 pm. By 8ish he had already drunk half the gallon. I think he could eat all day if we would let him.
This milling is nearly as addictive as woodworking, I just wish I had more time for both.
