I have this router bit and I don't know what is is for. It is different than my other bits for making grooves in that it has the groove in the middle of it. Anyone know?

It's a little different than most straight bits, but my guess is it's a straight cut bit for making dadoes or any type of shallow groove. Most straight bits have the cutters elevated above the center to help clear chips. Your bit just seems to be elevated more. Nothing shows in the photos, but are there any markings on it?
