I woke up earlier than usual this morning and since I couldn't really do anything in the shop, I decided to do a dry run of a model for a video tutorial I'm doing for a new SketchUp user.
And then a quickie render before leaving for work.
SO what are the dimensions on the flag case, I haven't used SketchUp I try an draw everything out on paper, but one day I like to learn how to use it
Roy
Thanks Rob. I suppose the Canadian flag could be folded the same way but I doubt it would have the same sort of impact. It would probably just be a red triangle.
Roy, the base is 26 long by 6 wide. I think if I were designing one from scratch, I would get the flag first so as to measure it's folded dimensions.
If you guys need some dimensions, Wood magazine has a free plan that can give you some direction. The dimensions in it are sized for today's burial flag. I've made 6-7 of these and they've always worked so far. Otherwise, having the flag in hand would be best.
Thanks as always Dave. I like the fact that the case and base are combined. I often see these tilted back against the wall . . . of course I live where the ground moves so, that could be it.
A veteran's burial flag measures 9.5' by 5'. The internal dimensions of a flag case need to be about 22.5" across the base and each diagonal about 16". Internal height from peak to bottom is about 11".
