A friend asked me to make his fiance a big cutting board for Xmas. She wanted big, made from dark and interesting wood and a handle he said. This is what I came up with out of cherry and walnut. Its 27" tall and 18" wide...she said BIG right? I had some scraps laying around and since I had the clamps and glue out already, I glued up a few smaller boards as well. 2 cherry and walnut and one hard maple and walnut. Delivering the big one today at lunch and the others will be put in the stack of the ones for sale or gifting at a later time.

Someone is going to have a very merry Christmas. Good looking boards Jeff. The 'natural' edge makes them really unique.

Well, delivery got delayed until tomorrow. My friend had to put out some fires at work so we couldn't meet for lunch.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone...:thumb:

I like them and that big one is a hit. Will make a great pizza serving platter or hey bread and its fixings . Make another and recess a few round holes near handle across the board for some small ramekin dishes. Recess just enough to keep the ramekin bowl in place. Like those rounded corners Jeff gives it an Artisan look. :headbang:

Turned out great! I was thinking pizza peel too! lol

Thanks Royall!

Lots of my friends thought this one and another a few weeks ago were pizza peels...these are a bit think for that. I have a peel in the works though...out of 1/2" material. Hope to finish it up over the holidays as it is already sold and needed for a New Years Eve party.
