Good night Joe....R.I.P.

Saw him about 6 -7 years ago in concert, man could he still sing (and jump, was worried he was going to break a hip). It was surprising how many songs he had that we didn't realize he had, but as soon as you heard them the memory was jogged. RIP Joe!

I played Mad Dogs and Englishmen so many times you could hear both sides at the same time (my apologies to our members that have no concept of the things that music comes on having another side :)). Leon Russell acting as bandleader for Joe was one of the things that pushed me from Organ to piano never knowing that a decade later you would play either (and more) on the same keyboard. When I wonder what Janis, Jim and Jim might have done when they hit their 60's I think of Joe. A unique entity who brought us decades of music. Rest in Peace.
