Miter saw stop

Pretty cool for those that have the room to give up for one. I imagine you could integrate this idea into something that fastened securely but, temporarily to the bench. the concept looks like it could be ported to other tools as well. I was unaware of the site and there are some cool things going on there. We humans are a clever lot ;-)
 
When you start looking at this stuff, lots of neat gadgets come to mind. I spent a lot of time on the openbuilds site when I was making my router sled. It's very cool stuff, although it would be better if they kept the parts store stocked. I ended up using other extrusions because the parts I needed were always 'out of stock'.
 
How well does this work with no other back stop than what is on the saw?

Good point, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to add that and lip at the same level/plane as the miter's table to keep pieces from sagging.

I know I've seen Tom Silva use a motorized system on TOH where he types in the length and it automatically adjusts, could do something similar using their pulley brackets with an arduino...
