I have two corner joints in MDF or similar material to join. If I use fast drying cyanoacrylate glue, and don't have a good means of clamping it, how much older will I get holding with my fingers until it dries?

It's a butt joint. Of course it's a butt joint, I made it.

Not sure on the dry time, it's pretty fast with quick cure though so probably about when you get task tired of holding it it ought to be getting pretty close. Most CA cures based on moisture so that will affect it some and you can affect the humidity of the joint (you don't want it wet cause that makes it brittle but more humid is faster).

Also remember that most CA is brittle and gets more so over time, so consider that for your use case.

I decided to go for some lunch first, then realized I could hold the pieces in place with painter's tape, which is what I did, as well as nailing the piece in place with my handy electric brad nailer. Looks OK. LOML will be marginally happy.
