I'm still in recovery mode from our "vacation", but I got a few things accomplished in my shop today!

One item I started and did most of the work on before we left last week is a plaque with the USMC emblem and an opening for a photograph. My oldest son was a marine deployed to Kuwait in the first Gulf war. I finished sanding the prototype today and see where I need to change the way I'm setting up the cut for the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. I used a 30° v-bit, but I think it will render better using an engraving bit and a lighter cut. Here's the design drawing along with the front and back of the item. I cut the back opening first, then flipped the mdf to cut the front. The prototype is done in 3/4" mdf; final will be 1/2" walnut. It's about 8.5" by 15".

Another item I cut today is numbers to stick on our mailbox post. These were done using the "Prism Carving" function in VCarve. They're 4" tall.
