Couple Spalted Maple Bowls

Cut up some maple blanks last week and finally got to them yesterday. I could see some spalting when I cut the blanks, but it was kinda punky too. Luckily the only the sap wood was punky and long curlies stated to fly. Both bowls are just under 9". Finished with my homebrew danish oil.

Yeah...those are some functional bowls! Finish is always great and you can put some fruit in these ;). Really sweet!
 
That spaulted maple is some nice looking wood! And, to say the least the bowls are very well done. Good looking bowls. Good looking wood. There must be a good turner behind them.
