Here's some other boxes that were part of the litter that yielded the Box Swap entry.

They are a little more subdued than the maple, bubinga and ebony swap box but, came out nicely.

A figured pecan and birds-eye maple pair with hard maple pulls.

A hard maple and curly pecan version with a bloodwood pull.

What are you using for hinges, Glenn?

That no-good Rob Lee sells these nice small box hinges as stop hinges or as unrestricted. I use the stop hinges. These 115 mm ones are held with #1 flat head brass screws so weight is a consideration. I want a certain look for the top profile and I need room for joinery so to cut some weight I hog out the underside of the top panel.

I use the same method when I want to scroll the top.

This one has a 150 mm hinge.
