I figured I would post this; success or failure. I have some UniKlamps that have a lot of hours on them. I know I had a period (before I got some short but stout clamps) where I used these little guys for . . . things that were . . . shall we say . . . , beyond the design parameters? At any rate I wore the pad to the point that the hole got too big and it fell off. I tried peening the end of the screw but, that stuff is tough!?!

So, being a non-weldr and not knowing any welders nearby I turned to JB Weld. I put some tape in the cup to keep the JB Weld from adhering to it (it needs to spin).

I used the screw tip as a hole punch to punch out the tape

I set the pad over the screw tip, mixed up a little JB Weld and used a coffee stir-stik to ease it under and around the bulbous tip of the screw.

I trimmed the excess, worked the pad by hand till the tape gave way and let the pad spin. Reassembled the clamp and . . . . Unbelievable! It works!?!

So, for a pea-sized blob of JB Weld I fixed a $25 clamp :thumb:
