Some small Boxes

Been a while since I posted, just to prove we are still spinning bits of wood here are some little boxes made to use up some of a stash of lid blanks that got left in a cupboard.

Beautiful as we have come to expect from you Chas. Thanks for sharing them. Is the bowl part ash or white Oak having a hard time deciding. The lid is amazing in fit. You sure have mastered this segmented lid concept. Happy Christmas to you.

Rob they are predominantly European Oak bodies and Walnut, * not sure of exact species as it came as off-cuts from a furniture manufacture.

Lovely pieces. you really have the spiral trick down there are no gaps at all there!

I like the "melty" looking grain on the elm piece it goes well with the walnut imho. I can see where the contrast provided by the straighter grain of the beech would appeal more to some folks though.
