We're cleaning up an old loom that fell into the truck the other day and were thinking of making a small vessel out of some vinyl rain gutter to immerse some of the worst parts in.
The stripper is regular hardware store product, says it contains dichloromethane and methanol. Will this also dissolve the vinyl rain gutter?

Personally I dislike the chemical strippers, I would first try a heat gun and a putty knife, and a brass toothbrush, then resort to the chemical stripper for the very last bit that you cannot easily get off, YMMV.

Stu one of the problems with a heat gun, will cause fibers for separate if their is sap present. Tendency to char the wood specially if the wood is old and very dry. I used them to strip entire exterior of Painted Lady's , not a very exciting job. Have to caulk all joints and have a hose by your side at all times.
