off and running on a new secret project! it will be pine (like the m&m machines). got all of the parts cut, glued up, sanded, and one side given a quick coat of shellac to prevent any tear out. it may be a couple of days on this one, with the cnc machine tied up with another project.

well, managed to get 2 out of 5 blanks done. the state seal board went by the way when the lettering at the top got screwed up, one blank twisted itself over the 3 days while i was at work, the third went by the way while cutting the holes, same problem that bit me later. but, 2 of them survived!

busy days! :busy: with the two pine prototypes out of the way, on to the real ones. i decided to go with the 4 minnesota boards, and 1 state seal board. glued up the blanks for the minnesota boards from odds and ends (gotta use them somehow), and i found that i had a correct sized off cut from the last of my big boards. planed it down, and used it for the minnesota state seal board. with the odd problems fixed, the cnc ran like a charm again. got the holes and profile cut first (had the 1/8" end mill in the spindle), then on to the other cuts. the seal itself took almost 2 hours to cut, lots of detail. once that board was done, it was on to the other 4 minnesota boards. learned how to use the fluting tool path to make the star design. now i just have to finish the shellac work tonight, so that they will be ready tomorrow.
